gorgeously dubai.
so yes, last midnight sharp, i posted an entry. this morning, i edited them and then it became awful coz pictures were missing. i am left with no other alternatives but to redo this thing. it took me one helluva long time last night but because i've made a promise, i shall do it all over again.

as i have said many times before, i'll miss every single bit about Dubai. waking up to the beautiful sights, morning walks, good food, beautiful people (i suffer from inferior complex while i was there but i don't give a damn about it) and etc. i told my mum, i've been to a few countries but this is the first time i don't feel like leaving a place.

i love Dubai and i know i'll go there again. maybe not anytime soon but i will, insyaallah ;)

Leaving For Dubai

we had some of my sister's friends to drive us to the airport. thanks to Mr B, Kak Em, Kak Syikin (Frostylady) and boyfriend for sending us off. as for uncle ahmad and kak ana, they had abang bobby, kak liana, abang opit, kak leha, princess and fat fat to send them off. we departed from Changi Airport at 12.25pm SG time. we reached Bangkok at about 1.45pm Bangkok time and our next flight to Dubai was supposed to take off at 5.30pm Bangkok time. but at 7.30pm Bangkok time, we were told to take a shuttle bus to the other side of the airport and change aircrafts coz there were technical problems with our initial flight and it can't depart.

we reach Dubai international airport at about 2.45am singapore time which is 10.45pm Dubai time. our driver, Hussain was waiting for us and uncle azam's (uncle bird's biz partner from Jordan ) nephew, Hafif (?) drove uncle bird in his hot mercedes and off we go to Jumeirah Islands!

okay so Jumeirah Islands is a private estate with 500 houses. Jumeirah is where the Burj' Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Resort, Wild Wadi and more are located and its very near to the Mall of the Emirates. the house we're staying in has seven bedrooms, a pool and two caretakers who are husband and wife - Tuty and Teguh. if im not wrong, the house is occupied by Hafif but he moved out so that we can stay there. how nice! :)

anyhow, i was held back at the Dubai Customs coz that unfriendly woman thinks that its not my passport coz i look different. she called her colleagues over to check if its really me. when they say it is, she was still not satisfied and started questioning me. what, do i look like an illegal immigrant to her?!

the one screaming "hafif! hafif!" is teguh! hahha. but we call him togok!

Day One.

we woke up to the sound of people screaming from downstairs coz a dog was scaring everyone away. it was actually quite funny. the dog belong to a neighbour as they came looking for it. after washing up, we drove to Abu Dhabi for lunch and sight seeing before going to Al-Ain.

the food at abu dhabi was awesome, i tell you. actually, Dubai's food never disappoint us, really. it's really, really nice and super affordable! :)

Beautiful ain't it?

after that we drove back to Dubai. twenty-four dunkin donuts, halal subway, got lost and ended up outside the Burj Al' Arab.

Day Two

woke up in the morning and found them swimming. yes, swimming in cold weather. crazy people!

Photobucket

Photobucket

afterwhich we went to the Mall of the Emirates for lunch and shopping. as i've said, Zara there is super cheap, swear. i went in there three times on the day itself. bought something for myself for the first one, uncle bird during the second one and then another one during the third time. but yes, i was feasting my eyes on hot men as well. there's one salesguy who look just like Antonio Banderas except maybe he is younger and hotter. when i was there for the third time, i went to the cashier with yan to pay and then...

yan: white coat, white coat!
me: huh? what white coat?
yan: lelaki coat putih lah! (translate: the guy in white coat)
me: OMG YAN. look at his friend now. the one in blue!
yan: the one with white top inside?
me: YUP!

no worries, ladies. he is straight. he was just doing a simple favor for me and i didn't even ask him to help me spot hot men! i assumed the both of them were customers there since they were standing at the cashier area as well. so yeah, back to the mall of the emirates. forever 21 is cheap, Aldo is cheap, H&M is heaven. really cheap! maybe coz they were having a sale. Mango was having a sale as well and its SUPER CHEAP but i can't stand the long queue. the aunts and uncles and mother went to carrefour and splurged 1000darhams on food for the bbq and for lunch the next day. thats approximately 400 dollars. what do you expect? they bought 15kg of fish! big prawns, squid and etc etc.

the louis vuitton is cheap as well, though not as cheap as France but its much cheaper than Singapore! but not all the things there are cheap. FCUK for example is really expensive. you should try a shop named Koton and also Camieu. they sell pretty clothes that are really cheap! Camieu especially. u can get a really nice top for only 40darhams! and theres another shop that i can't remember the name, it has nice tops as well and its very affordable.

At The Mall of the Emirates:

oh, the choc dates are realllllly nice. bought some for the people in Singapore.

i was his salesgirl at zara! haha. i picked out the coat, picked out the size and we were done in 5minutes. no kidding! i was so effective and efficient, when we went shopping again the next day, he called me up and told me to choose his glasses for him! hehe.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
kollywood hero!

he scolded a guy there for staring at me. we had to stop him but i honestly thought the guy deserved every bit of it. i couldn't figure his nationality. maybe middle eastern, maybe asian.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Back home for BBQ and a fun night joking away. the sheesha was fine, it smells good! but the cigar, BLEARGH! smells like fart to me. yucks.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Photobucket
TEGUH!

Day Three

went for a morning walk around the neighbourhood with a few of them. we left right after we brushed our teeth and had our morning drink.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Photobucket
yay! tak mandi! :)

Photobucket
he wanted to act terror lah. he went out with a sleeveless top but he had to rush back home coz it was freeeezing cold!

Photobucket

after that? i became crazy! i went to swim! too cold, i swear! i wore a tshirt over my swimsuit. swam for about an hr before i went out of the pool. when i came out, yan carried me, my brother in law pulled my towel and they threw me back into the pool!! i ran around the entire backyard chasing yan with a hose!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Photobucket
i love pink :)

home-cooked lunch!

Photobucket

PhotobucketPhotobucket

after zohor, we left for 'old' dubai. took a boat around the city and the view was priceless! after that we went to shop for souvenirs around the area.

after that we went to Dubai Festival City for dinner and shopping. its a new shopping center and its really quiet. the things there are expensive. the only nice thing? THE TOILET!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Photobucket
the stairs! cool ey?! and can you spot me?!

Day Four

wanted to go to the desert safari but it was fully booked so we went on the next day instead. we headed to al-karama for lunch at a pakistani restaurant. as usual, the food is delicious but we had to wait for a long time so everyone got bored.

Photobucket
EVERY DAY, THE SAME THING :)

Photobucket
HAHA.

PhotobucketPhotobucket
girls, he'll make a good daddy! yan's 'after kentut' face.

Photobucket

PhotobucketPhotobucket

i wanted to be an arab woman but i ended up looking like a terrorist from Afghan! evidence:

Photobucket

SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

after that we headed to the mall of the emirates coz they needed to go carrefour for groceries and i needed some more chocolate dates. i also wanted to attack the place coz the previous day at the festival city, i had gastric so i was quiet. for no reason, my mum thought i was upset. but then i told her i was unwell. as an attempt to make me feel a whole lot better, she gave me 500darhams to spend. say, YAY! :)

went to Zara, again and everyone i saw when i went on the second day was there, including the two hot guys in white coat and blue/black coat. THEY WORK THERE, THANKS! :) i tell you, i'm so gonna apply for a job at zara there. i'm gonna be punctual for work and work overtime EVERYDAY! bought a top there and then went around to shop for another two hours before meeting the rest at the meeting place and thats where i met the guy uncle bird scolded! he work there too, damn it. my mum told me, "tunang giler kau kat sini!" haha.

after which we went to the Burj Al' Arab!

if you wanna go inside the hotel, one person will be charged 100USD. if we have to pay that amount per person, we would have given it a miss. Hafif is actually a member there so we got in for FREE. we just need to hop into his hot mercedes and we're done.

the hotel is beautiful! the cars at the lobby are all luxury cars - rolls royce, ferrari. you name it, they have it. inside, i saw a reporter and a photographer talking to this blonde guy and taking his picture. he is a footballer but i don't know who he is. how i wish it was Ronaldo!

i'll let the pics do the talking :)

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

PhotobucketPhotobucket

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

we walked outside the hotel, on the bridge thats above the sea and the beach is pretty! it was really, really cold that night.

after that we went to Hard Rock Cafe. better than SG i think. its more like a family place. there were kids and such in there and the band was awesome! bought tshirts there and then left.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
i was exhausted but two arab boys made my day!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

uncle azam's grandchildren. they're gonna grow up and become hot arab men!

Day Five

DESERT SAFARI! the epitome of fun!

took a bus to the desert. it was freezing cold. reached the place. the safari ride. fell in love with mohanish. camel ride. dinner. belly dancing and performances. safari back. then home.

mohanish, haha. he's actually the safari driver. he took my family but i was in uncle bird's car. damn it, right? so after we reached our tent, i took a picture with him. really nice guy and he's funny! he's from egypt. he smiled at me when i was having dinner*melted* and when we were on our way back to our bus area, he stopped my car and asked where's my family. when we told him they took another ride back, he asked uncle bird if uncle bird want him to drive us back but i guess uncle bird and the rest were all lazy and stick with the driver. then he spoke to the other driver in arab for awhile and then we left:(

Mohanish aside. the safari was fun! at one point of time, while we were going down the high slope, our car couldn't move as there was a plant in front of us so we were in a tilted position for five mins before our driver decided to just run over the plant. people were taking pics of us and the other drivers came to help.

there was also a fight there but guess who came to the rescue? ehem ehem, my egyptian hero of course! heh.

topman and topshop are fucking expensive and the clothes are awful. oh, at dubai festival city, the Adidas is reallllllllllly cheap!
